EB-5 Regional Centers Settle Suits, Prevents Deauthorization (1)

Regional centers previously allowed to operate under the EB-5 visa program have retained their prior status as part of a settlement of two lawsuits challenging a policy requiring them to reapply following a lapse in congressional authorization.

The EB-5 program reserves green cards for immigrant investors who commit to put up a minimum amount of capital into a US business and create at least 10 jobs. The EB-5 regional center program, which requires periodic reauthorization by Congress, allows foreign investors to pool their funds in enterprises such as real estate projects.
